We were traveling on the road and I just happened to find this place on the map and took a chance on it. This is such a great restaurant! I absolutely LOVE the concept of the books. It was so great they had a kids section for our 4 6 year old to choose from. Everyone there was so nice, great service for the table. The food was average (chicken was pretty dry which is why I removed a star as well as some wings we got we're loaded up with bbq sauce- that's just personal preference tho) but my kids liked their burger and pancakes. Prices were fair, especially on the kids menu. Family of 4 got dinner for under $80 and that included an appetizer. If ever wind up this way again I'd definitely stop...
Great spot located in union, CT.... right down the road from bigelow hollow! From first glance, it looks like any ol small town diner. Upon entering you're greeted by bookshelves stacked with books and signs informing all meals from with a free book from selective shelves. The whole basement is a libarary as well, perfect for any book lovers. My friend and I even saw some books from the early 40s from quickly breezing through Breakfast sandwiches are awesome and there choices for lunch sandwiches were also great. Loved the animal sandwich
Our first visit. The staff is friendly. We ate outside because we had our dog. It was a lovely evening. I loved browsing through all the books. I ended up finding a CT cookbook to take home. The food was mostly good. Like nothing was bad, but some things could be better. See photos for captions.
Great dinner at the Traveler food and book restaurant. The preztel we ordered was enormous and good, as was the raven sandwich. We didn't find any books we wanted upstairs this time, but it was still nice to browse.

If your looking for a good place to eat that is very convenient to the highway this is it. The service is fast and friendly. The food is excellent and fairly priced. They also have books.
I had a great breakfast here! Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was quick and attentive. The books available for reading were a delightful bonus!
