We were expecting a better experience due to what were told by friends. After we were seated, one of three tables with guests in the restaurant, we waited 15 minutes for water and placed a drink order. 20 minutes later got our drinks. By this time one new table arrived and the two other tables were eating. Our order was then taken. Twenty minutes went by no problem but by now we were there almost an hour.At the 30 minute Mark I asked the server would it be much longer for our food she went and checked and they were just starting to cook it!!I said I would pay for the drinks and we were leaving. What a treat to find this restaurant by the Bedford mall that's styled just like a diner straight out of the 50's: checkered floor, waitress uniforms, juke box, and Laverne & Shirley playing on the big screen TVs. On Wednesdays and Thursday they have a duo singing 50's tunes. Menu was standard diner fare with a good selection. Food was okay (fried were a little underdone for my tastes) and the service was fast, friendly and attentive. It was packed but we got right in. The portions were smaller but I actually like that as I find a lot of restaurants go overboard.

But the Sheperd's PIe was miserable. I'd guess the cheapest grade of hamburger possible was used ; runny and fatty juice, with a few small pieces of frozen carrots and peas here and there, topped with 2 mounds of what I would say was artificial potato, which had very gresy and tasteless melted cheese on top, sitting in a small pool of fat. I did not eat even half : felt quite ill. Some of our friends had burgers and said they were fine: and the fish and chips eaten by my husband were also "O.K". JUst do not order the Sheperd's pie, folks.

Went here for supper with my wife and sister. The hostess was unfriendly and then so was the waitress. Once the food was ordered we noticed that all the staff except 1 were very unhappy. The food was sub par and cold since it sat in the pass way too long. Having seen this many disgruntled employees leads me to speculate that management is not very good to the staff. Wont be back and its a shame as this used to be a good place to go.

This was our first visit and my wife and I were pleasantly surprised. The location is convenient and the restaurant is nicely decorated. We both enjoyed watching "I Love Lucy" reruns while we waited for our meals. The staff were pleasant and attentive. We ordered the Shepherds Pie and Liver and Onions . Both were delivered hot and were very tasty! Would definitely recommend for a generous and enjoyable 'home cooked' meal.

We tried True North after a year or so of avoiding the place. I can only say the food hasn't improved very much. I will not say the food was bad but not served as I expected from the menu description. The serves was slow and the food was not really hot when I got. It will be a while before I go back again.

This diner looks like you came out of the 50s. The interior the waitresses the jukebox it all looks like Archie comic book. I had a burger and fries the food was reasonably priced and was quick. The service was quick, staff was friendly if you want to step back in time go here for lunch.

I recently visited True North Diner for my neice's birthday. The location is central to Bedford, the food average diner food, the staff were friendly and quick, and the atmosphere is fun and inviting. We enjoyed ourselves.

Western sandwich was tasty. Fries were hard and slightly warm . Gravy was hot ! Prices are resonable.
