Tuco’s Taqueria Garaje

We had heard great things about this restaurant, so we decided to order six soft tacos and four quesadillas to go. Our total came to $99, which I found to be quite pricey. My biggest issue was with the pricing. When I called to ask for a total, they informed me it would take several minutes because they were busy, so I didn't press the matter. Unfortunately, I was hoping the food would justify the cost, but it fell short. While I might consider returning if the prices were lower, the portions were small and the flavors were just average—not as authentic as I had expected.

An amazing and diverse new spot has opened in downtown Roanoke on Salem Ave! The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, and our waiter was outstanding. The mezcal tequila was warm, smoky, and incredibly smooth—definitely worth a try. The tuna and pork tacos were juicy, flavorful, and offered a delightful taste experience. The tortilla chips were fresh and perfectly salted, complemented by a mild and refreshing salsa. The house margarita was clean, smooth, and one of the best I've tasted in town—absolutely a must-try! This hidden gem is definitely worth seeking out!

Man, this place is GREAT! Like I am mad at myself for not realizing it was around sooner. The tacos are by far the beat tacos I have had in Roanoke. The "southern comfort# catfish taco was amazing! My two girlfriends and I placed our orders then ate then placed second orders for more tacos then I ordered more tacos to take home for my husband. After our engagement photos, we decided to stop by this restaurant, and it turned out to be an excellent choice! The food was incredible—we tried the fried avocado taco, the fried chicken taco, and the steak tacos, and I highly recommend all of them. Tucos was absolutely amazing... I highly recommend the nachos as they were the best food I have ever eaten in my life. Friendly staff and they also make a mean you'd margarita that was mixed perfect. This place is a little diamond of Roanoke! My all time new favorite restaurant

The food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Most of the tacos were excellent, although one was a bit bland. Fortunately, the others more than made up for it. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the happy hour is fantastic.

Stopped at Tuco?s for dinner while traveling for work, so good and I don?t eat Mexican food often. Prefer to cook it myself at home. Definitely worth the visit ????

We had the shrimp tacos on the special. They were great, an explosion of tastes that all melded together perfectly! Tuco’s never lets us down!

Charming and cozy atmosphere! The food is delicious, and the staff are friendly and very helpful. I can't wait to come back!
