I dropped in to Two Farm Girls on Sunday morning, fancying a nice simple but tasty breakfast and coffee. Being solo I didn't want to take up a table, and they pointed me to a stool in the window area, which suited me perfectly. They have a small but eclectic menu, but I wanted something simple. Two poached eggs on toast, with a side of bacon and hash browns, along with a Latte.Coffee arrived, and was smooth and creamy, although not as hot as my taste would prefer. Have driven past this cafe a hundred times and we finally got there this morning for breakfast!We were not disappointed! A great vibe, gorgeously friendly and accommodating staff, delicious food (with loads of options available), good coffee and fabulous service!I had Smashed Avo on the most delicious bread with a poached egg and Merediths goats cheese and hubby had a slow cooked lamb pot which was quite rich and heavy - which he loved! We arrived around 8:30am on a Sunday and by just after 9:00am the place was full! They are doing so many things right, but have not quite got it. They are paying great attention to cleanliness and have someone s\weeping whenever she is not serving. Good. The menu is innovative, but it is almost identical with all the other innovative restaurants. There are many dishes of eggs in every variety. There are pancakes, fritters, etc. I ordered the Barnyard Burger. It turned out to be a small fried chicken schnitzel on a bread roll with coleslaw and something else. The roll was burnt and the piece of chicken was rather small and too oily. It was dear at $17.50 and I declined to add some fries at $6.50 more. On recommendation my daughter in law & I popped in for a late breakfast.... BEST BEST decision. The service is attentive. The coffee is the most satisfying I've ever had (I own & operate a coffee place ... so this is really something) the breakfast menu was different with something to delight everyone. I chose the lamb shank melting pot & my daughter in law chose the mushroom medley. Both were absolutely mouth watering Devine. We live 3 + hours away & I haven't stopped raving about this cafe. My daughter and I called in for breakfast. Greeted by friendly staff and seated. Water and menus were delivered and coffee ordered. When the coffee arrived we ordered out breakfast. The staff were knowledgeable in helping us decide. Our meals arrived and they were well presented, good size and delicious. Love the decor, nice and fresh. We will definitely be back.
A hidden gem but worth the visit! Do rug up in winter as the heating is not great and doors are left open too much because the staff are hot and forget that sitting patrons are inactive. However, the food is excellent and interesting; flavours and ingredients which would not be an obvious combinations make wonderfully tasting meals. Can't recommend enough!
