On a recent trip to Hobart we came across this fish and chip shop. On entering the store I noticed signage for a "Monster Burger". My husband does enjoy a food challenge so suggested he try it. He agreed and was glad he did. While the ingredients listed are what you would expect on a hamburger don't be fooled, this is a "monster" burger. To give you a clue as to its size: if you have this to take away, it comes in a cake box. Yep, it's big but also delicious. The meat pattie was home made and delicious. in the last 3 years my family goes to 2 pips for our good Friday fishing, but unfortunately this year management has changed where the old owner used to shatter the fish in the public view and then put into deep friteuse, the fish is now cooked in the cooler part then for the recooking in the fritegern. the fish portions are half as large and not different from the fish that can be bought in a half dozen nearby fish and chip shop. the teig was nice and crisp, but is now clean and soft. there were some customers there, but think the most like I think that we have unfortunately not in the same league as we have in recent years.
First time I came in I got a peice of pre cooked flake from the display. It was cold, but I thought, if it was hot it might be nice. So I went back and ordered fresh cooked flake and scallops. Since then I've been back 4 times. Best value fish AND best tasting fish in town. Awesome scallops, chips cooked to perfection. Love the batter it's the best.
Often call in to grab a crumbed piece of fish with my work mate glenn ..the owner is always up for a chat with us about old cars and always leave with a smile ..food is prepared infont of you and i always find a great meal inside one we get back to work ...thanks guys and keep up the good work.

Got some flake and chips **** beautiful, fresh fish falls apart and melts in your mouth, definitely recommend a visit
