Union Street Kitchen Cafe

Made the drive from Aylmer to finally try this place out. I had driven passed it several months ago while in the neighborhood and it immediately stood out to me. I knew instantly that I HAD to try it one day, well today was that day!!And am I ever glad I did! For starters, the location (in and out literally looks like something from a Hallmark Movie (ok ok, I watch them from time to time...don 't tell anybody! Yesterday, a couple with a child needed an empty cup and they were told they have to buy a drink to get a cup. Yes, this place is unique and I am happy it exists in New Edinburgh. And yes, I support it by buying their drinks and delicacies on occasion. However, I think refusing someone an empty cup is not nice. I would totally understand if there is a line of people asking for empty cups, but how often is anyone asking for one? It would be really nice if Union Street Kitchen Café could afford this gesture of kindness every now and then.

Food was tasty but they ask cash or debit when it comes time to pay. This isn 't mentioned or posted anywhere that I could see. The next person after me said she only had credit and she was allowed to pay with it. The duality just seemed odd and off-putting to me. Either accept it and bake the fees into the price or don 't do it at all. People already know it helps small businesses to avoid credit cards but that 's not the way to go about it!

Incredible sandwiches and cookies! Coffee and tea were super delicious too (I had a rooibos oat latter). Love that everything is vegetarian and it’s in a quiet neighbourhood with easy street parking. One downside was the lack of seating for our group of 8 (2 families with 4 kids in total). Luckily the weather was warm enough to eat outside on the small bench. We love this place. It got better after COVID. Although Monique the owner was always pleasant, many of the servers pre COVID were pretentious. Now, everyone is great. Their sandwiches are gourmet and they serve the best Flat White in town this comes from someone who lied in Australia for a year where the Flat Whites are their bread and butter.

Love this place. Scrumptious baked goods! Everything is made from scratch. They are always trying something new and different. They have delicious soups, sandwiches, and salads. The staff is wonderful. A beautiful atmosphere. I highly recommend it.?

Such a lovely coffee shop in the neighborhood. I loved to stop there for a coffee when I was in vacation and I always left with a big smile. Everyone is so polite and kind.I really enjoyed the latte with lavender syrup and the almond croissant.

A great discovery today! Had family visiting from Vancouver and we were looking for a good cup of coffee. The area is also wonderful! A peaceful hidden pocket.

Best hidden gem! I’ve passed this cafe so many times and today I decided to finally give it a try and I’m so glad I did. High quality food and drinks!
