Update May 2024: Andreas has just smashed it out of the park. I’ve just had the best fish and chips of my life. Upton chippy is back baby. Massive chunky fish, amazing chips! Review from 2013 Chips always good but cod is so hit and miss. You go one month and the fish is white chunky flakes, so good that you go back again, and then the cod is thin, grey watery rubbish. If they could improve consistency, then it would be 5*, but these days for £9.20 its not worth the risk of a getting a wet grey disappointment.
This is the second time I've been here as we were at the holiday home this time last year. There was a member of staff who was soo rude, cold and non engaging. She wouldn't even smile at my three year old. There was simply no need. The food was acceptable, but a little overpriced. We weren't even offered a carrier bag and the food was very hot.
Before heading to Upton from Worcester for lunch, we double-checked the restaurant's website to ensure it was open. Despite the good reviews about their chips, we were disappointed to find it closed upon arrival. The opening times online had not been updated, leaving two disappointed grandsons and one very angry customer.
I'm a local, just down the street. Been here 4 times so far, great every time nice chips and Fish. Fish is a tad small for a large, but its whatever they can get in today's food market prices, And it tastes great every time. And the Staff have always been very friendly and having a good chat and joke. Great place

I had someone pick up some fries and a few items from this restaurant on Friday night. Unfortunately, I would recommend avoiding it as the food was greasy, undercooked, and overpriced.
I just had fish and chips. The batter was all soggy and stuck to the paper, and the chips were greasy with no crunch. I hope I don't get sick. I won't be returning to that restaurant.
The Steak and ale pies were dried out with pastry that would stop a bullet. Chips were below average. Very poor, second time used and the last. No idea how to run a chippy.
Usually OK but tonight was dreadful stale batter that was thicker than the fish. The fish was about 10mm thick. Won't be going again. Chips typically good as usual

Needed a pukka pie desperately and these guys delivered ! Everyone working there was really friendly and all very reasonably priced !
