We have eaten at Urquhart's previously and always been more than happy but the Sunday roast left us pretty disappointed. The choices were beef and turkey. I only eat white meat but my boyfriend eats red and white so asked if he could have...half and half of both meats. He was told no, we should both order one of each and swap our meat with each other. Never before have I had this response from any other restaurant. The portion size was very small, slices of meat, a very small helping of broccoli, carrots and turnip (the turnip was delicious). wanted to try local family ran restaurants instead of any chain and urquharts matched the bill perfectly. we called on Sunday to midday for a table for as usual with my wife or so minen too late. front. the house was very pleasant. eating was amazing. the starters were beautiful. pate and a delicious tomato and basilikum soup. (big bowl) I had steak pie that was incredible with a massive platelet steak. Wife had a huh and heggis with whisky sauce and thought it was nice. now I would recommend urquharts restuarant. I'd rather believe them.
Having looked around for somewhere to visit to have a celebratory family meal for my husbands during a recent visit to Inverness i am so glad that I came across Urquharts! The menu provided something for all of our fussy eaters and we could...not fault anything, and the service was excellent. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Inverness.
excellent meal with first class service from the young waiting team. beautiful ambiente. well maintained. my man had the steak pee I had with Madeira sauce. toffee banane pavlowa was amazing! make sure to book as much as possible. customers had to be turned away. we will not hesitate to return if we are back inverness.
