When the owner approached us, she asked, quite irritably, “Do you know what you want to drink?” After we placed our orders, she didn’t say a word and simply walked away. Our subsequent interactions were just as uncomfortable. If we thanked her for something, she ignored us. After I finished ordering my food, she turned to my husband, staring at him without saying a word. She had an air of frustration, as if she was unhappy that we decided to dine there—it was by far the most uncomfortable restaurant experience I've ever had.
What really stood out was her drastic change in behavior when other customers, who appeared to be her friends, arrived. Suddenly, she became chatty and upbeat with them...
My husband I ate lunch there, today. $45.09...We had a double cheeseburger plate...only had the burger fries..., a chicken tender plate with 2 sides...ONLY TWO chicken tenders were on the plate 1 of them was small), 2 drinks 2 strawberry cobblers with 2 teaspoons of ice cream on it it was $45.09!!! YES, you read that right!!! The service was VERY slow the server was rude!!! The food was good, but I got sick on the way home with extreme DIARRHEA!!! WE WON'T BE BACK!!!
Went a few weeks ago, took forever to receive help and get our food. The atmosphere is quiet and not overcrowded but I was not impressed by their food or their pricing. My turkey club sandwich was served as a hot item and I’ve never had a hot turkey club sandwich. My family didn’t hardly eat their meals because they just weren’t good. Paid around $50 for 3 people and it was terrible!
This little gem has some great Southern home cookin on offer. Their menu does change regularly, so don 't expect the same dishes all the time. But they have all you can eat catfish on Fridays that is a great value! I think the cornbread and sides are the real stars of the show here. I 'll definitely be back!

food was just ok. nothing special. service was slow for there was only 5 people in there when we arrived. Vegetables were kind of bland. Prices way too high ! Havent been back and not sure we will.
My husband is obsessed with the buffalo tenders. I like to try something different every time and I’ve loved everything I’ve had. Even my kids ask when we can go back to Varnell Cafe
I understand inflation but just for a cheeseburger tater tots and a sweet tea $16.00 is a little too much won’t go back
