the vault is a restaurant in an old bank with funky decor. they order at the counter, take a number and eat is brought to their table. while the vegan options are limited, their sandwich board has always a choice that is vegan or can be made vegan. I chose the veggie sandwich with zucchini, tomaten, arugula, marinara and smoked tofu (from the non-vegan pesto). the thin slices of smoked tofu felt like I was eating a really good blt. the sandwiches are large, but they can also add kartoffels, a sidealat suppe or (which is occasionally vegan). they also have a vegan breakfast package that has discarded tofu.
could not make five stars because it is not completely veg, I think, but the vegan breakfast pack and the muffins were sooo delicious. also had a chai latte with milk, also delicious. we picked up the ferry and it's a good thing that we did as it took a few minutes to cook the breakfast packages. the package was $13, which wasn't super cheap imo, but I don't regret it because it was delicious. there is also a small vintage shop in the back, and single-stand washing rooms.
We came here for coffee in the morning and instantly fell in love with the decor and the music, so we decided to come back for lunch and had one of their Roasted Vegetable and BLTC panini accompanied with their Vegan corn and bean soup, it was all amazing. They had vegan options for breakfast and lunch. We highly recommend this place, especially my hipster vegan girlfriend.
probably the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had, thanks for the experience. coffee was just as delicious was smooth looking without bitterness. almost regrets not having the chance to try some of the other things like the biscotti or the brownies that looked very appetizing, but should leave something for the next time. The atmosphere was very cozy and vintage, a lot of detail in the décor. It's the perfect café to study at, but is also great for having a relaxed brunch with a friend. Servers were very friendly and the breakfast wrap was filling and delicious. This café is definitely somewhere I'll come back to next time I'm in Nanaimo.
we and our friends visited the island victoria and took a coffee there and it was certainly one of our great experiences on the island. the coffee is really good with a coffee bean at medium toast. the hai was really delicious. also the service is so friendly. Note: if they are Mexican, they have valentina sauce
A bohemian style cafe, amazing food (my first time having a fully loaded breakfast burrito that comes with crispy cheese on the outside, it was heavenly) and reasonably priced. Lots of seats to sit inside and outside. Very lovely vibes, you can also find game cards next to some tables.
