Vegreville Train Station

We took a day trip to Vegreville on a recent afternoon and decided on Ukrainian food for our lunch. Since we'd heard good things about the Vegreville Train Station, we decided to give it a try. Imagine our disappointment when arrived only to find a hand lettered sign on the front door stating the place was closed. I've given this restaurant an average rating only because of the disappointment factor. Even though the website shows they're open during the day Saturday, maybe phone before going?

Good , simple, Ukrainian food. In spite of some of the rather poor reviews in the past, we decided to give it a try - and were very glad we did! Started with the borscht, and then shared the Ukrainian plate. Both were very good and perfect mid way lunch stop. If you are looking for 'high-end' food, this won't be for you, but if a simple home-cooked meal is your hearts (or stomachs) desire this is the place! Just too bad it's only open on Saturday...

went there for supper with a friend and it was wonderful.The food was delish! They had some locals playing guitar-fiddle etc..it was fun.tons of laughs paired with delish food.Not just homemade Ukrainian food an array of choices.I recommend this place for lunch or supper!

I love this place. Lots of atmosphere. Friendly staff. Ukrainian food and great music on Saturday nights. Looking forward to Valentines dinner 2015.

Tried calling but automated message says they are closed except for private gatherings. That is about all I can say.
