Despite the high ratings, I was somewhat disappointed with this restaurant. The atmosphere was not to my liking, as it was very loud and the red dim lighting was straining on my eyes. However, the service was excellent. I started with the bruschetta, which was delicious but the bread was a bit too thin and hard. My main course was gnocchi, which was soft and well-made, but the sauce was overly salty due to the abundance of olives. Although the flavors were there, I believe that the new Italian restaurant, Olive and Angelo, located nearby, would be a better choice.
The atmosphere and location of the restaurant were great. The food was delicious with generous serving sizes. The chili garlic bread we ordered could have been a bit lighter on the bread and maybe a focaccia bread would have elevated it. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.
The restaurant has closed down. I tried looking for it on the map but no one was there. I hope that Yelp updates their Australian recommendations as many of them are no longer in business.
