Via Ghibellina - Reserva de mesa

I had a wonderful dinner at Via Ghibellina! It's a charming restaurant located in Ivy City, close to Planet Fitness and Mom's. This is some of the best and most authentic Italian cuisine I've experienced in the city. We started with the arancini appetizer, which came with a delicious flatbread. I opted for the house Chardonnay; it was good but a bit lighter than I would have preferred. For our main courses, we chose the pappardelle con ragú di agnello, featuring braised lamb, green olives, tomatoes, Grana Padano cheese, and mint.

This has quickly become my favorite restaurant in DC! It feels like a little trip to Italy, thanks to the top-notch ingredients, incredible authentic flavors, and reasonable prices. The owner truly enhances the dining experience with his engaging stories and passion for running the restaurant. Be sure to try the homemade noodles and the smooth Piedmont red wine. The pizza is served with scissors, just like in Italy! Both the takeout and dine-in experiences exceed expectations.

Sorry to say that my experience here was disappointing. I had read good things about this place and we were there at a busy time on a Saturday evening which may have contributed to the problems, but I do think they should be able to handle the pressure of a busy weekend evening. We shared the Fritto Misto as an appetizer and it was well prepared, delicately fried, came out promptly with a tasty red sauce. I had the Cacio a Pepe pasta as my main course. Via Ghibellina is an awesome hidden gem and was a perfect addition to an Italian themed evening in DC for my husband and I. We were in the area tasting Italian liqueurs at Don Ciccio and Figli and were ready for dinner. We walked around the block and decided to stop in here. The restaurant is rather unassuming from outside, but as soon as we walked in we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Everyone we interacted with on the staff was very kind. You have to hurry to Via Ghibellina! Everything there is incredible, but you absolutely can't miss the Fritto Misto appetizer! As a proud Italian-American from Rhode Island, where authentic Italian cuisine is plentiful, I had a hard time finding genuine Italian restaurants in the DMV area. After the unfortunate closing of Napoli Pasta Bar, I discovered Via Ghibellina! The atmosphere, food, quality, management, and staff are all outstanding!

Came in within the last hour before they closed. Got the pizza and pasta. Both delivered in flavor and consistency. Desert was one of the best! Will have to come back for their lobster specials. Overall amazing service. :

Incredible! Best Italian in DC! Francesco is the funniest, best waiter I?ve had in years. So excited to come back. If you come for brunch get the Carbonara and the French Toast!

I had an exceptional meal with prompt service! My friend ordered a dish that I absolutely have to try on my next visit. This is definitely a restaurant I'll be returning to!
