via ghibellina use to be my going to the restaurant when I take friends to birthday. good Italian kitchen and service pretty good. but on this Saturday the service was absolutely terrible, as we had a waiter, who said that she has been working there for a few months. she claimed to have been trained as a bartender with knowing about wein. you know about wein couldn't be any further from truth. My new favorite restaurant! Went there a year ago and loved it, so we went back for my birthday and it was perfect. I had the cacio e pepe which is AMAZING! I've had this dish at other Italian restaurants, and this one blows them away. It is probably the best you will get outside of Rome. My boyfriend had the Tagliatelle Al Ragu, and it was equally as good. You can tell they make their pasta by hand. We split the Filet Mignon in blueberry reduction, and it literally melted in our mouths. It was heavenly. Tiramisu for dessert and the dinner was perfect. I can't wait to go back. It is a small restaurant so it can get noisy, but we didn't mind at all. I highly recommend Via Ghibellina!

This was our first time dining at Via Ghiabella and we loved it. We celebrated my husband's birthday meal here. The food was outstanding and not the typical italian food (which can sometimes be heavy). Bread service and cheese board were light, interesting and delicious. We both had the whole roasted branzino, which was grilled to perfection. The accompanying veggies were crisp and tasty. We will return soon. The location was great because there was ample parking and it was not in the heart of DC where parking is often challenging.

the personal is welcoming, friendly, only attentive enough. eating is delicious it is our favorite place for a Friday night pizza or one of the homemade pastas.
