Decided to give this place a try after one of my customer got me one of those take out bento box. It might be a little tricky to find this place if you are not too familiar with the New West area. Inside the restaurant was quite small and I coukd tell it needed a little bit of tidying up and perhaps some renovations. Here were the food I ordered; 1. Real crab sunomono. I am totally at lost with this one; the crab flakes were dry and the whole sunomono was literally tasteless. Truly a real **** sunomono. And no idea why its reddish 2. Appetizer tempura. Didn't have that nice soft flaky crisp and midget prawns. 3. Beef tataki. It came smothered in japanese mayo and garlic flakes that were ligh...

Overall: 3.5 stars Here's why... free street parking is limited but available if you can get a spot. If not, they have paid parking in the structure next to their building (which we had to do), but the parking rate is comparable to downtown Vancouver rate! Restaurant itself is small so there are only a few tables available. We came early for dinner, so we didn't have any issues waiting for a table. Lots of people order takeout as this is in a residential area filled with high rise condos. Staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. Bathrooms were roomy but only 1 person can go in at a time (per gender). The regular sushi makis and nigiris were comparable to other sushi restaurants around...

Over 40 bucks for 2 rolls and beef teriyaki. I order from here often and tonight I was really disappointed. I ordered a dynamite roll which normally is quite good but tonight it was basically all imitation crab; same for my BC roll. Hardly any salmon skin and just too much crab I don't remember crab even being in this roll here) and the beef teriyaki was just a slap in the face. You can tell they are being stingy with protein as it was like 90% cabbage. Absolutely disgusting charging more for less and filler ingredients.

It 's been a number of years since I last visited this hidden gem. Back in the day, they were known for their not-so-secret off-menu items. Things have changed a bit over time and I noticed they list some of their special menu items now like their spoon .On this visit, I tried their Appetizer Aburi Sushi combo which consisted of shrimp, tuna, salmon belly, hamachi ,wild salmon, toro, mackerel, unagi, and egg.The nigiri didn 't disappoint. If you 're in the neighborhood, this little spot is a nice option.

It’s a small and unlikely place for great sushi. The space is clean, but with limited seating. We had a few different rolls but the highlights of our meal were the spicy salmon roll, the salmon aburi, and beef yakisoba. The food was very fresh, and flavourful. It’s clearly a very popular place since the kitchen was swamped with large takeout orders, having said that, the staff powered through and still delivered superb customer service. Thank you for the lovely dining experience.

My absolute favorite little gem when I come visit the Greater Vancouver area! I’m from LA and we have okay sushi there but nothing is as good as the sushi that comes from here.My favorite thing was the Salmon Oishi- an amazing melt in your mouth experience. I also loved the Agedashi tofu and the size of the avocado salad surprised me!Took my bf here for the first time and we definitely enjoyed every bit of it. Thank you for such a great experience :

I go here since when they first opened. It was my favorite one not only bc it is close to my place but also they are tasty. But as time passes, disappointed... and disappointed. Sometimes teriyaki is not fully cooked, sometimes sushi was not very fresh, sometimes their rice is not fully cooked.. always something is missing. I stopped go here now but still willing to try again. Hopefully when i try next time, it is better!!

I have eaten in many times when living in the area. I went back recently with 2 other sushi lovers who also had a great experience. Tonight we ordered takeout.. same wonderful experience. For those leaving low reviews, I'm not sure why. Maybe live outside the box and try different things like we do. Never been disappointed yet.

Our go-to neighborhood sushi. The regular roles aren't great but always love their sashimi and nigiri! Special roles are decent. The more expensive dishes are definitely better quality here, so might have to splurge sometimeFood: 4/5
