I have dined at Villa Del Rey twice. The first time, I was not a fan of my dinner choice (fajitas? quesadilla?), but the salsa and chips were delicious. Fortunately, my sister and niece shared their tasty entrees with me. The second visit was for lunch with a friend, and we both had burritos. I ordered the supreme with ground beef, while my friend had the traditional with steak. I almost finished the entire burrito as it was so delicious. My friend enjoyed hers as well, but decided to omit the tomatillo sauce. I suggested she try pouring some of her queso over it, as she couldn't stop eating it. My experience at the restaurant on Saturday afternoon was disappointing. Our server, Zoe, seemed disinterested and spent most of the time on her phone rather than attending to our needs. Additionally, I was shocked to see that she had long nails, which is not hygienic in the restaurant industry. To top it off, all the employees, including what appeared to be a manager, were sitting around in the bar area and neglecting customers. Overall, the service and atmosphere were subpar and I may consider notifying the health department about the unsanitary conditions.
I recently tried the takeout option from this restaurant for lunch and was thoroughly impressed. The price per person was between $10 and $20, which I found very reasonable. I gave the food a rating of 5, as the Lunch Chicken Fajitas were absolutely delicious. The service was also excellent, earning another 5 rating. The atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming and cozy, making my meal even more enjoyable. I highly recommend trying the Lunch Chicken Fajitas for a tasty and satisfying meal.
In my opinion, the best Tex-Mex restaurant in the area. The only draw back is that it is a little too small for the customer base, and due to sharing a small land-locked parking area with several other businesses then it can be difficult to find parking. The dining experience was awful. The food tasted prefabricated and lacked flavor. The enchilada sauce smelled like it belonged on lasagne. The dishes were the worst I've ever had, extremely dry with a sprinkle of dry chili on top. We were never greeted or made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Overall, it was a waste of time and money.

I'm happy that we finally gave Villa Del Rey a try. Despite living so close by, we had not visited before. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly.
