We returned to this restaurant after many years absence to celebrate a friends birthday. with much anticipation of a good evening .. There were 6 of us in all and it was a very busy evening. at Vila Napoli. Sadly our experience was a disappointing and upsetting one. Firstly we were 6 persons placed on a table for 4, leaving little room for the food and drinks when they arrived. All the food portions were small and when the vegetables arrived to accompany the meals we thought there was more following...as it was clearly not enough for our group. We enqired if this was for all persons to be told yes. so we politely asked for more ... it arrived quickly but it was dumped unhappily on our table....
Absolutely awful experience. We've wanted to eat at this restaurant since we moved to Penarth a year ago. So disappointing and left us feeling very angry. Our outside table was booked for 6.30pm and by 7.45pm we still hadn't eaten. Our side dish of garlic bread came 40 minutes before our main course, and our main course only arrived after I went into the restaurant to say we'd been waiting nearly an hour since ordering. We'd obviously been forgotten but no apology was offered and the manager was very arrogant and dismissive. The pasta portions were small and no way worth £18 for a vegetarian dish. My daughter had a Calzone, which was also £18 and a total rip off for some cheese and vegetable...
Went as a couple, early evening.The only downside which is pretty major ! is that my husband is wheelchair bound we could only eat out front under the awning, which was fine as it was a nice summer’s evening. However to go inside there are 3 fairly steep steps. No ramp to go in. Perhaps the bar area could be modified to accommodate a table or two? We thoroughly enjoyed our main courses, rigatoni with Tuscan sausage linguine with crab. We shared a starter, which I’m glad about as it was quite large for one, sourdough toast( very good) , burrata and Parma ham.Dessert was ok tiramisu a bit too creamy sweet for me, pistachio cheesecake a but bland, I like my coffee quite strong it was a little w...
Visited the restaurant on a busy Thursday night with a friend. Staff were obviously rushed but still really helpful and friendly, we didn’t have a booking but they found a spot for us. Food was fantastic. We had olives and breads to start and the pizza for main. (We even ended up grabbing some pizza to go) Had the BEST panna cotta I’ve ever tasted. Looking forward to taking the family back. Stunning setting and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The most fantastic muscles from the Gower, the best we’ve ever tasted. Wonderful pizza (GF) and seafood risotto was superb. Staff were polite and appreciative of our feedback. Pleasure to dine here. We were recommended by a local and were hugely impressed. Lovely end to a good day in Penarth.
Food was delicious and staff welcoming. Food was reasonable priced but had a real shock with the price of the drinks, so over priced which put a damper on the evening. Cost of wines were available but not the spirits. Will go again but probably stick with a soft drink/water.
Had a fabulous meal here. All 4 family members were very happy with their food. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. A special mention for Rocco who showed endless patience with the parents of a fractious toddler. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in the area.
Tony and his family once again provided us with an amazing New Year's meal. They are great hosts and the setting is wonderful. The service was excellent. I highly recommend trying the Monk Fish Scampi - it was truly amazing and deserving of a 10/10 rating!

The location, the service, and the cuisine were all exceptional. The decor was stunning and the ragu was incredibly delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning.
