Village Mediterranean Rim

Five of us were celebrating a couple of family birthdays on a Saturday evening at this small restaurant that seats around two dozen people. It was not noisy at all. They only serve beer and wine and have a limited selection. The menu includes Moroccan dishes as well as mainstream entrees and specials. I ordered the Moroccan curry, which was a chicken breast in a mild curry sauce served on a bed of rice. My wife had the hangar steak, which she said was excellent. For dessert, we had the flourless chocolate cake, which was rich and delicious. The service was great and the kitchen was only ten feet away.

This restaurant in San Clemente is one of the top two meals I have ever had. I regret not trying it sooner, as my neighbor had been recommending Village Mediterranean for some time now. The lamb Oso Bucco was absolutely amazing! My husband enjoyed the Sea Bass with Crabpesto, Pear salad, and Panna Cotta, all of which were excellent. The only issue I had was trying to decide between the many delicious entrees on the menu. Looks like I'll have to come back soon to try more! Trust me, skip the chain restaurants in Laguna and give this place a try - you won't be disappointed.

I had dinner at another place, but while I was walking, I stopped at this restaurant and asked for coffee and dessert. We ordered the cheesecake, which was incredibly delicious. I regret not having my dinner there because the food seemed amazing. I plan to go back next weekend. I can't stop thinking about the taste of the cheesecake and the amazing coffee. I recommended this restaurant to my friend, and she also enjoyed the food there. She said it was delicious and wants to go back again. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Literally, one of the 2 best meals I've ever eaten in San Clemente. So sad we didn't try it sooner as my neighbor has been raving about Village Mediterranean for a while! The lamb Oso Bucco was better than FABULOUS!! Hubby had the Sea Bass with Crab pesto, Pear salad and Panna Cotta....also excellent. The biggest problem for me was choosing among the many delicious sounding entrees!! Guess I'll have to go back soon to try them!!!!! I regret not taking photos, as the food at this restaurant is both stunning and delicious. It's surprising that it's not always full. I ordered the Wild Mushroom and Asparagus Fettuccine, while others in my group tried the 10 Hours Braised Boneless Short Ribs, Lamb Meat Loaf, and a special dish called the Beef Cheeks – all of which were fantastic. We particularly enjoyed the rich flavors and tender meat. Our server, Josi, provided excellent service.

I have to rate The Mediterranean Rim on Del Mar 5Stars. Their food is Always consistent, and always consistently delicious. Such a cute and cozy place. Its our favorite “date night” restaurant in town. I personally Love the goat cheese salad, Squash Soup, Skirt Steak, Fish, ?Wine sections are great, and the sauces they create are fantastic. Must add the best homemade cheesecake for desert. Thank you.

Awful customer service, avoid this restaurant at all costs. The way they treat their customers is terrible. The American host at the front of the restaurant was the worst part. I have never experienced such bad customer service before. When I asked if I could use the restroom with a purchase, the staff member said no because of my physical appearance and English accent.

The oso buco was so good on Saturday night that we went back a week later to have it again. Wine list is great. Service was great. This place is a gem. It is now my new favorite restaurant
