Tammy and her team are friendly and welcoming. Before it closed, this pub was nothing remarkable, but after a thorough remodel, it retains the same layout while being significantly cleaner. went there to pick up take out. After about 15 minutes I notice I am getting the awkward eye from the clientele so I order a shot. Bartender ID's me (good on him) and after inspecting it refuses to serve me. I thought this must be a local joke but no. Funny thing is I was sober as a judge that night, have many witnesses and was the driver to get the fish. Ok whatever, didn't want the drink anyway, than the bartender puts his finger over my head and takes a toll with the patrons whether I am too drunk to be served 1. That is not there job. 2. We ordered a thick crust pizza along with a burger and fries, but ended up waiting over an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, we received a thin crust pizza instead because they had run out of thick crust and hadn’t informed us. My fries were cold, so our server took my burger and fries back to make fresh fries, but by the time they returned, my burger had also gone cold. The soda is served in small glasses, and you have to wait a long time for refills. We had heard great things about the pizza, so we were very disappointed. They did take off the cost of our sodas, which amounted to a whole $4! We won’t be returning.
The new owners have made significant improvements, including cleaning, painting, revamping the fireplace, installing a tin ceiling, adding new furniture, and rebuilding the outdoor deck. They've introduced Taco Tuesdays and revived the Friday fish fries, which is fantastic! Every dish I've tried has been outstanding. They also offer a solid selection of beers on tap, with a nice variety of IPAs, my personal favorite.
If you find yourself in Chatham and are looking for a delicious meal or a refreshing cold beer, I highly recommend stopping by. You won’t regret it!

I had one of the worst dining experiences at this restaurant. Our party of eight was told by the owner that we should have made a reservation in advance, despite the bar being completely empty. When we pointed out that nearly every item we ordered arrived cold and that our special requests were all incorrect, the owner insisted that we were mistaken about the quality of the food. I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant and pub altogether!
So I stop by the Village Pub for a fish which is pretty standard fare for the U.P. of Michigan. I had not been there for quite some time. I have to say, if you want a great meal with a nice home town atmosphere, you're not going to find a better establishment. The beverages are cold and the food is hot. I'm 6'5 360lbs. We were looking for a place to stop and stretch our legs. We thought, why not! It doesn't look like much from the outside but we were pleasantly surprised. We had the philly steak sandwich and it was sooo good! The bartender/waitress was so friendly! We would totally go back!
Great little town to stop by and have a COLD one, have a good lunch or dinner and shoot the **** with the locals. Everyone I met was laid back and very respectful. A must visit if you're in the area.

Great little bar! Located in a small town but the food is amazing and has great fish fries on Friday nights! Definitely a little gem of a bar.
