Waedi-brau-huus

Waedi Brau Huss has a good variety of house-brewed beers, a friendly hostess and special events occurring during the course of the year. Waedi Brau Huus menu has small treats to go with those just drinking beers or have a go with their full, hearty meals for lunch and dinner crowds. The place is very quiet during mornings as it’s just off the main walking strip, but it’s a great spot for trying some of their many home brewed beers. They have a very large seating area; from the inside dining tables and high tables and stools, to the courtyard, open-air tables and another enclosed outer seating area. The place has a friendly hostess, lot of newspapers, and free secured Wi-Fi on my visit. I tried one of their special winter malt brews 4CHF (2dl), which was very good.

Last night we arrived the place with family and friends. Since it is my town i was trying to talk to the waiter. But my Swiss friend realized that woman was very rude to me and he felt to intervene. She puts us in a corner awful service. Very very average food. Beef tartar was not good at all too much raw meat taste. We asked more bread. And they brought 2 slice for 6 people table. Worse service. Very rude lady at the entrance . Even though i live in Wädenswil i will Never go there again. If you are a foreigner just avoid the place. Clearly they don’t like you.

Over 12 years we have been to that place countless times, bringing lots of guests, leaving lots of money, as it has a really nice beer garden. I have to say, the quality does not improve with time, again a completely new team of inadequately trained waiters, this time the lady was outright rude and condescending. We left without a meal, it is simply not worth it any more. The prices are on the premium side, but the food is average and service disgraceful. Waedenswil offers so much better! Not keen on returning soon.

In a small, rather run down, shopping centre next to a garden centre, Waedi_brau Huus offers a good range of 'brewed on the premises ' beer. In fact, the beer is the main attraction. The food is not that special although the burgers and schnitzels are pretty good and they often have barbequed meats (at a price! . Note: the 'country cut ' chips are nice and served with dips but we thought they were too expensive compared with ordinary chips. Beer is quite expensive and maximum measure 400ml.

We had a lovely afternoon visit, enjoying pretzels and drinks. The outdoor patio was lovely. Great place for a snack and visit!
