Today I took my elderly mother for a lunchtime meal for mother's day at the Walter de Cantelupe Inn, in Kempsey. It was a last minute booking and they could not have been more accomodating if they had tried. They were helpful, friendly and the service was impecable. The menu was a choice of three main courses and three desserts, but all great offerings. The food was beautifully cooked and utterly delicious. The portion size was perfect. I would HIGHLY recommend lunching here and will definitely be visiting again in the future.
I stayed at this restaurant while on a business trip. The owner and staff were very welcoming. The room had slanting ceilings which may not be suitable for taller guests. But I personally enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. The building had a traditional feel with wooden beams. It was peaceful at night and I had a good night's sleep with no disturbances. I ordered the cottage pie for dinner and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.
What a joy to visit this Inn. Right from the moment we arrived Martin made us so welcome. Nothing was to much trouble,he was so invested in making sure our stay was perfect. It was from the room(spacious with the biggest bed we had ever seen to the exceptional evening meal, wonderfull beer then followed In the morning by a beautiful full English breakfast. This restaurant is a hidden gem! We stayed here for one night and received a very warm welcome from the friendly host. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary Robinsons cider. The landlord went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The breakfast options were plentiful and delicious. I highly recommend visiting this place!

Great little local pub. Martin was fantastic as a host. Food excellent, lamb and gammon beautifully cooked and served. Beer and wine fantastic, lovely little fire and local community inside. Bed comfortable, think tradition and homely any you will be here. A Free House not a chain!
Stayed for 2 nights B&B. Very comfortable bedroom with a large deluxe bed. Private ensuite. Very old Inn. Martin was a brilliant host and chef. Very friendly staff and locals. We definitely stay again.
Room had very very low sloping ceiling, so if your tall you will have to walk bent over and the toilet was the same. Rooms: 1 Service: 4 Location: 4
