Today I was walking around with my partner thinking were we should go for dinner and then we realized we hadn't tried WaraWara for a really long time, maybe over a year or so and decided to give it a go. For starters we got the fried chicken (I guess this is their take on chicken Karaage), the chives pancake and the fermented beans soup with vegetables. The first dish to be served was the fried chicken, for the price of the dish (about 7 dollars) I wasn't expecting much and still got a bit disappointed, the chicken was almost dry and not crispy enough. The sauce on top was average but the chicken by itself was not seasoned enough and not really pleasant to eat, this was probably the first...

This place used to be so busy and opened very late everyday. Advertises as a Japanese restaurant but is actually a Korean restaurant. With majority of its meals being korean and a few items being japanese but the japanese meals were poorly cooked. It had too much of a korean influence on the japanese dishes and therefore tasted funny. The one thing that really annoyed me and my friends which ultimately made us always go next door to Maru korean restaurant is the waitstaff. The korean male waiters were very snobby and up themselves. Every time we wanted to order more beers he would hesitate as if we were being a nuisance. The female waitstaff were generally much more helpful but of course nev...

Came here with 12 friends. The ambience is decent, and its menu diverse and fairly-priced.Unfortunately the quality and taste didn't have much too brag about. Ordered the chicken Mayo with rice ($15); I've had better meal that cost just $10.The staff was also rather lazy looking (slow when called upon for fork/kimchi), and had poor attention to detail (lost one of our friend's order). Food came sporadically every 10 minutes such that the last person on our table received his food 30 minutes after the first. The biggest disappointment however came when we were paying. As is the case when one came with 12 friends, we had to split the bill. The manager was quite rude explaining that it's only "o...
On the weekdays they have cheap lunch sets and if I find myself in the city and am really hungry during a weekday I make sure I come here and share the Chinese lunch set with my partner. Chinese lunch set meaning like Chinese food with a Korean twist-not traditional Chinese style. It's 3 main meals (jjambong-spicy seafood soup, sweet and sour pork and black bean noodles) for about ~$29? Not sure exactly about the price but it's around that price range which I find to be extremely good value!!! And its delicious! The sweet and sour pork sauce is just beautiful and tangy and the jjambong broth is the perfect level of spicy. Unfortunately I can't comment much on the rest of the menu because I u...
Great atmosphere however the food is not as good. And the price is high for the quality of the food. We came in as small group. And ordered several dishes, pretty disappointed by them. We ordered two Bento and they came out looking great. The teriyaki chicken bento tasted overly salty and karaage chicken is just a failure, it doesn't taste anything like karage chicken at all. And their ramen is just plain not enough flavours in it. And the average food price is like 15 which is way overpriced for what we getting. Probs won't be back. If u wanna try korean food or good bento , not this restaurant. Try Maru, madtongsan or wagaya for decent 12 bento.
Just to be clear, my knowledge of Korean food is limited but Elizabeth street Brisbane seems to the place to go! Have eaten at Warawara many times, just upstairs, nice open space, private booths, licensed however byo wine. Food is always good, pretty quick, not pricey and lots of little condiments included Reserva una mesa ahora
The soy marinated chicken with garlic was definitely something to try. It's not boneless chicken so if you don't like that then be aware. That spicy cheese chicken was hella spicy though, no joke.

"The food was tasty. But everyone at our table immediately felt very ill. Almost instantly. The salmon was also a little to raw. The meat was quite a fatty cut"

"The pasta at this restaurant is fantastic, the service is good, but the prices are a bit on the higher side. The gnocchi was particularly delicious, but there are other more satisfying options available for the same price."
