We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and had a very pleasant experience.The hotel was clean and quiet but what really stood out for us was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We were made to feel welcome and very much at home. We had eaten at the hotel restaurant years ago and had been disappointed with the food. However, we decided to give the breakfast a try and we were happy we did. The Eggs Benedict was very nice and had real ham instead of the expected processed slice of meat. The hollandaise sauce was made from scratch.There is also an excellent Sunday buffet which offers a good selection of breakfast and lunch items for a very reasonable price($14.99/per person). Have not stayed overnight here but eat here often.... Have done breakfast , lunch and dinner here and for the past year or so since new management came in , it's been nothing short of fantastic! Cannot find one thing to complain about! Seriously folks, please try the dining room ( not a fan of the lounge staff, rude arrogant server/ bartender every time we have been there..completely ignored us one night, we left)....you will not be disappointed!!! Prime Rib is magnificent ( I am picky about my PRib... No body does it like ("The Log") but this is right up there! Beautiful view from every seat! Great dining room staff!!! (ASK FOR KENDRA or JANNA)....excellent menu!
My husband and I drove out to Kenora for lunch and from previous experience knew not to expect the greatest food so I was not disappointed when the food was pretty mediocre. I ordered the Turkey Knife and Fork and he ordered the Roast Beef Knife and Fork. The filling was deli like and the gravy was the same on both - probably from a can. It was still tasty and the fries were really good but definitely a little salty for us. The hostess and server were good, our food arrived quickly, and the prices were reasonable. What was stunning was the view of the lake and seeing the boaters on the water. I would go back for that reason and might try a different menu item.
We stayed here for 4 nights while fishing on Lake of The Woods. The place is really a very comfortable place, similar to a typical Hilton. The only drawback we encountered here was that the restaurant and the bar both closed too early for fisherman. The restaurant doesnt serve past 9 PM and the bar is closed down at 10 PM. Management is missing someting here, we were in the bar 4 nights in a row with 15 or more people each night in the bar that would have stayed longer and bought more food & drinks if they would stay open. We went out with our friend and she took us to the best view of the lake ever. Supper was fine and not overly priced that one would go again. We will revisit this place for sure and may stay as well within. The town here fills up with folks from Manitoba on the weekends. It truly is a nice place to visit and helps immensely if you have friends or family here to show you the sights. Thanks a million Janet for your tours and kindness.
Was very impressed with the Sunday brunch, good food lots of variety and great value. Even had a senior special. It is on main floor so unfortunately no view. Have eaten in this Inn in past years and wasn't very good. But chef is much better and would recommend it now. Plan on going back this year before close cottage.
I have never stayed in the hotel therefore, I can't help you on that part. My husband and I went there for Dinner and sadly the food was expensive and terrible, the waitress was listening and taking part of our conversation not professional at all. We won't go there again for any meals !
