The interesting ingredients listed on the menu made the choices look interesting, but too often at our table, the dishes lacked the flavor we were hoping for; the ginger in the mussels stew was undetectable; the macaroni and cheese was bland; the Cubano was dry, the salmon was way overcooked; the bread in the blueberry bread pudding was flavorless. On the other hand, we loved the ambience on the patio, and the service was warm and attentive. We would go back but would be realistic about our expectations.
We had a wonderful outside dinner with friends. The food was excellent and our server, Matt, did a great job. He didn’t rush us and we were able to eat and drink in a leisurely manner. Our friends had the fondue, Shepherds pie and grilled octopus. It was their first time at Octapas and they really enjoyed the meal. We had garlic shrimp , seasoned potatoes, brussel sprouts with bacon and grilled octopus. We absolutely love the brussel sprouts!
Octapas is one of my favorite places to eat in Olympia. This was a brunch stop; their beignets are so amazingly soft and pillowy. After having them served to us in the past with practically a whole bag of powdered sugar dumped on them, this time we got smart and asked for “light” powdered sugar and they were perfect. Their goat cheese tart is one of the best brunch items I’ve ever had. Service is friendly and prompt, just right.
While my Mother loved her Eggs Benedict, my brown butter merengue pancakes were barely lukewarm and just tasted so-so. Was still hungry after consuming them, so ordered a side of sourdough toast. And you wouldn't believe how small the one piece of bread, cut in half was. Lastly, the coffee was a bit milder/ weaker than I prefer.

Octapas in Olympia is a great place with ample spacing and outdoor eating that’s covered. Food is uniquely prepared with flavors and presentation is nice as well. The beignets are melt is your mouth heaven. Try the Oxtails and lamb. Delicious flavors in broth and so tender. So many things to keep trying. I will be back. Pam S
We were very satisfied with our experience at Octapas. The only issue I had was that my potatoes were somewhat cold Other than that everything was fine. Service was perfect. The friends that were with us enjoyed their experience as well and commented they would be back again for breakfast as we will as well.
Enjoyed excellent chicken wings and a kale salad. Had a unique mock tail that was quite refreshing. My spouse had a salmon salad that she said was delicious. Service was excellent and the ambience pleasant. This is a favorite place now for our friends and us. We’ll be back soon.
I can’t believe we had not been to this location since living here. We’ve been missing out the past 2 years. We loved everything about Octapas so this will be part of our go to’s for sure !

Amazing graduation brunch! Our server Ray was fast and friendly. Every dish was perfectly plated and tasted delicious. This is our go-to special occasion restaurant!
