Waveland Cafe In Des Mo

Came here this morning for breakfast. It was busy as expected. We were seated fairly quickly. We were seated at the same time as another table for 4. Our coffee cake came out while we had empty coffee cups. Our waitress didn 't even look. Dropped them on the table and never checked back in. The other table of 4 was leaving when our breakfast was served. We were ok with this as we were not in a hurry. The food was decent. We stayed over 30 min after we finished our meal. We left a $30 tip on a $47 bill since we stayed longer than anticipated. I was waiting for the bathroom and our waitress didn 't see me. She said loudly I can 't believe the actually left! I said I was sorry as she turned aro...

I absolutely fell in love with this cafe! I had the Wavelands best skillet and my partner had their AMAZING fluffy pancakes. The hash browns in mine were cooked to perfection. Our waitress, Haley, was incredibly polite and fun all while providing astute service. I only wish they had more seating within the cafe itself, but if it got too much busier it might ruin the vibe of this amazing cafe. Keep up the great work!!!

You won't find a better neighborhood place to have really good hot food and great atmosphere. The staff that work there have been there for years and as long as I have been going there they are had maybe 5 new people come to work there and that is over the past 35 years. That's just shows how good of an owner Stoney is to have people stay and work for you not just for a year or so but for their whole career.

Their everything hash browns are the bomb. I really like love the sausage gravy and fluffy biscuits. If you are wanting lunch the hot roast beef sandwich is awsome. I have never had a bad meal there. Its one of those down home places where the service care about their customer and the cooks are never skimpy with their serving sizes. I alway bring 1/2 of mine home for a second meal. 10-10:30am. The place was packed and did manage to get a table. Waitress was never able to serve us. We move to an available booth (without them knowing? Still was not able to get service. Like I said, the place was packed, and maybe the 3 staff members that were there, was just so overwhelmed maybe they were not prepared for being so busy. Ended up the Ankeny Diner.

Delicious and great value! The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, and the whole staff was personable and very nice. I believe our waitresses name was Hailey and she was incredible! Very fun and relaxed little establishment.

A place I've only had a chance to visit on rare occasion. I grew up in Des Moines and visited when it was new way back when. The people are wonderful and the food equally as good!!

This is an awesome breakfast diner/cafe. 3 of us all had something different, and it was all great. (Eggs over crispy hash browns, pancakes (very flavorful), side of gravy . Loved Reserva una mesa ahora
