Weinhaus Merowingerhof

A wonderful restaurant and in small Andernach on the Rhine! The building is very old and full of character, with a beautiful green courtyard, and rooms that can only be described as "original". The 'Chefin' and her team (still no longer seems to have, always a 'team'! are all pleasant and efficient, and in their way help to create the atmosphere of tranquility. There is an excellent wine list, with many wines on the glass, and a varied menu, all very cheap. I even discovered 'meat cheese with roast potatoes', suggesting that this high-quality restaurant in no way 'in itself'! Weinhaus Merowingerhof is a place to relax and enjoy in spring, summer, fall and winter. In summer you can enjoy a cosy summer breeze outside, in winter dinner close to a warming fireside. The menue offers German and Mediterranean Cuisine with local and international wines. All is very tasty and nicely decorated. Friendly staff takes care of the guests. This restaurant is always a good choice.

I've been here for years and the food is always wonderful and the staff like family. All from potato soup to salads to sparrows and desserts are fabulous. I always send colleagues here and they all come back happy. Do not pay attention to the few bad reviews (notice they only logged in to leave a review). This is the best restaurant in Andernach.

Great ambiance! Love this 1789 Winehouse were you eat in what were rooms. I had salad and some wine and definetly enjoyed it as did our hosts
