Have visited the Saint several times before. However our visit tonight (21/6/24) was very disappointing, Had booked in advance to use a voucher my husband had been given for Father’s Day. We were shown to what I would describe as the worse table in the place. We asked if we could have a different table to be told it was the only table for two available. My husband who is 6’ 2” squeezed himself into the tiny alcove with immovable chairs. We ordered drinks and water then shortly afterwards ordered our food. First course arrived, which was a sharing plate, no side plates supplied, and still no drinks had arrived, so had to attract a servers attention (which wasn’t easy) to ask for our drinks again. While waiting we saw that two people had been to shown to one of the bunquette seats at the window that can seat six. The food when it arrived was good. My husband asked for a second pint, but before it arrived we had finished our food and decided to pay our bill and leave. Whilst we were advised by one of the servers that the restaurant was very busy and they were short staffed this is a management issue and should not impact on the customer. Very very disappointing, and think it will be a long time before we are back.

The Sunday toast was truly mediocre, the starters were supermarket quality, in particular the beetroot option with lukewarm goats cheese. The burger meat was very chewy and not very well cooked but worst of all was the risotto which tasted like a mixture of porridge, gruel and vegetarian haggis though without any spice work house Dickens style actually almost not edible the beer was warm and it was very expensive 100 pounds for three for very mediocre food.

We decided to stop by for dinner and to catch the Euro game. We started with garlic bread, followed by the rump of lamb along with the steak mushroom pie… everything was absolutely delicious! The staff were great and made sure we could enjoy the football game in the bunker downstairs. Plus, the restaurant is equipped for disabled access and is dog-friendly! Would 100% recommend this place.

The decor was lovely, the food.. I had the lamb.. Was delicious, what there was if of it, surprising small portion for £28?!.. And some of the staff helpful and cheery, some others really weren't, the girl who was suppose to be at the till area, really was quite blank, walked past us twice while we stood waiting to pay.. We even said... But still blanked us.
