Had lunch there last Sat. My wife had battered goujons and i had breaded scampi. When I politely queried why both meals were so small we were advised it was because of the Company 's portion control . I had no issue with the polite staff member who served us but I got the impression even he was embarrassed with what he served us. My plate consisted of a small handful of chips, very small dish of mushy peas and 8 small scampi, one of which was burnt. My wife had 4 small battered goujons spaced well apart on a ciabatta. Very poor value for money and although this is a our local sadly we will not be visiting again as it is certainly not good value for what we paid.
We booked for a party of 16, it was a family 50th birthday. We took a cake which was no problem at all. We pre ordered our food as such a big table. The food was served by a lovely lady called Laura who was fabulous! The food was excellent and there were no problems. We had to order our desserts and they were excellent too! Then they brought out the cake with candles and napkins and we cut it ourselves. The barman who served our drinks while we waited for everyone to arrive was chatty and polite, all in all it was a fabulous evening and would most definitely recommend!!!!
Myself and my partner have stayed here on a couple of occasions. We find the location of the pub is perfect for visiting family. We decided on the Sunday roast rib of beef. Due to our visiting times, we knew we might be a bit late for a roast. There was no need to worry, Paul the manager came to our rescue and generously set aside two roasts. The meal was exceptional, especially the rib and cauliflower cheese. Always a big thumbs up for us, EXTRA GRAVY!!!!! Paul and his team were the perfect hosts. We look forward to returning very soon.
Anything from the menu at 12.30 was a super bonus for 2 diners with very differing opinions on food tastes. Both of us were thrilled with our meals, beautifully presented and delicious, loved how spicy mine was. Lovely relaxed, calm setting with adequate staff to be attentive and helpful. Would definitely recommend! Thank you Kee and Paul.

Nice cosy little pub , The waiting staff. (Nile) was very helpful. With. Helping food choices , The food was good. The steak and ale , pie was amazing The wheelchair. Access is very good Toilets very clean , Nice open fire Generally nice relaxing pub also dog friendly ,

I frequently stay at the Premier Inn next door for business, which is very convenient. The staff is excellent and always friendly. The food is delicious, so enjoy your meal.
This was the first time visiting and certainly won't be the last. Sam offered brilliant service, really looked after us and our food was lovely. Would highly recommend

Fantastic service at the bar, the bartender Sam Bircher was quick and attentive and very hospitable. Drinks were nice and fair priced. Would go again.
