Visited on a wet April afternoon and had a warm welcome. Though the restaurant was a little cool suspect that’s down to the current heating costs so don’t blame them for that. Menu was good and varied, good tap beer choices only 1 non alcoholic. My husbands food choices were tastier than mine pork pie with lovely piccalilli and duck from the specials. I had pate which was lovely, the sourdough bread was just nice toast, to follow I had chicken with pancetta. The chicken was moist, the pancetta cremated. I complained, no one did anything other than say sorry. Pudding were the best course, sticky toffee for him and chocolate torte for me yum. Coffee was also nice. Staff were polite and attentive. Reasonable bill. Probably won’t travel an hour to go again but if it was more local I’d likely return.
