Went in while visiting Penarth, but clear attitude and off atmosphere from the start because we weren 't from there/didn 't fit the right 'look ' of Penarth. Even though the policy was no outside food/drinks (which is understandable), so we were immediately addressed with awful attitude when we tried drinking our own drink. However, we HAD purchased some food/drink, so it was clear we were just not good enough customers for them (even though it was not busy). We weren 't even given a chance to explain we had purchased from them and that dietary restrictions meant one person needed to drink what they had brought with them from home. We visited today (Sunday) we had been for a lovely walk in the sunshine. We were really looking forward to trying Wilmores as I heard great things! We got a table, hubby went to order 2 ploughmans lunches, a jacket patotoe and drinks to be told no food was being cooked. It wasn 't late it was only 2.15pm in the afternoon. We enjoyed our lattes but couldn 't help feeling very disappointed. We went elsewhere for food. We only have Sundays where we can get out and about and visit these places like most people, as we work.
My party sat in the covered garden section and had a delightful lunch consisting of two club sandwiches and a fish finger sandwich. Each dish came with coleslaw, a salad garnish, and skin-on fries, with the option of either granary or white bread. The service was friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful time and are eager to come back. As residents, it's great to have a clean and inviting restaurant to dine at and bring guests to.
Cosy, locally run cafe that offers fresh food made from local produce. The bread comes from the baker down the road, the meat from the nearby butcher, and so on. Dog-friendly but quite cramped so if you've got a big dog (as we do) it's perhaps best to leave him/her at home. On nice days they open up the front and offer outdoor seating. Another reason to love Penarth.

The food was ok, but it took a long time to arrive and parts of it cold. It could do with a little more signage so customers don’t stand at the counter waiting for non existent staff when you should know to pop next door to order your food. I wouldn’t bother going there again.
Fantastic spot for a lunch outing, especially because our son had the opportunity to play in the park! The location is perfect, the food is delicious, and the staff is extremely friendly. Thank you!
Great that Charlotte and Matt have reopened , albeit in a different location. Excellent coffee and breakfast in lovely surroundings. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in the area.
