This was our first stay at the WorldMark Kona. It is the smallest WorldMark resort that we have stayed at. The resort is kind of an ugly brown box on Alii Drive with a second ugly brown box to the rear, about 1.5 to 2 miles south of downtown Kailua-Kona, on the other side of the street away from the ocean. Private houses block a view of the ocean. We had a ground floor two bedroom, two bathroom unit in the back building. A queen bed was in the master, with two twin beds in the second bedroom, and a comfortable Murphy queen bed in the entrance hall area. The bathrooms were pretty basic. My parents have had Worldmark as long as I can remember so sometimes my partner and I travel with them as all adults or we use my parents’ points for trips with the (now teenage) kids. That means we’ve been to many WM. Candidly, this is not our preferred method of travel probably because all WMs are all fine but not special, including usually having fine but not special locations and amenities. This one was fine. All units face the pool so can be loud. They limit wifi to 2 devices which is cheap and also not acceptable for a 2br unit, which we had. Could not have asked for a better area for us to stay. You are just outside of the busy part of the main avenue. So if your vacation isn't all about bars and party you can enjoy the nights. A short walk into town and around to the coffee shops. The people here are so nice and welcoming. They made our vacation 100X better with all of the suggestions and knowledge of the area.
Worldmark has continually offered fewer features and amenities despite being quite expensive. They will make your pay for wifi which you can get free at even the cheapest motel. No ocean view.Rooms: 2/5

Skimpy on the service... You have to pay for wi-fi. We are staying for 2 weeks and have to ask for coffee everyday. Movie rentals cost money! Very limited parking too.Rooms: 4/5
WorldMark was very good. Kona, for me, had not enough sandy beaches, mostly lava rock. There is not much to do in Kona, but it is Hawaii! Rooms: 4/5

Really nice resort. The attentive hotel staff. Pool and spa well maintained. Lots of parking, good location.
Great staff and clean property. Pool and hot tub were kept so clean that our stay so relaxing.
