We went here in July and we got a lovely sunny evening. We had some wine outside first as we’d arrived early. Lovely atmosphere having a drink in the sunshine and just chilling out. We had our meal inside. Lovely restaurant and a nice menu. I had the mussels to start and they were delicious. For the mains I had the steak. It was ok but I’ve had a lot better elsewhere for less. The steak came with just chips and a battered onion ring. It just felt like a fast food meal. It was ok but I would’ve liked a choice of mash or veg instead of just chips. Bit expensive. First the good Setting is excellent and lovely ambience. Service when we were there was good. Replaced chicken maryland with a burger free of charge The bad : Bit pricey Mussels were too salty, small and sauce was mediocre Chicken wings are dry with only 6 in a small portion Seafood chowder shell fish was overcooked. Homemade bread was OK but not as god as Johnny Foxes Sirloin steak had too much fat. Child (nor I) did not like the chicken maryland (ate a lot because he thought he was forced to) Burger was boring and dry. Caesar salad had little salad.
We wanted to go for casual lunch, on arrival tables set out for formal lunch, with an over priced menu. My sister who was dining later opted for the smoked salmon starter, which at €11 was so miserable, two tiny bits of salmon on a half slice of brown bread. I ordered fish and chips which was so over cooked I couldn't get a knife through it, while I pointed this out it was replaced with a perfectly cooked fish. However, I shall not be returning any time soon.
We booked a table for 10 people to celebrate a 60th birthday. While the service was good the food was poor, the portion sizes are very small not worth the prices they ask We didn't leave a tip because we were charged over 70 eur for services charges, will definitely be avoiding this place in the future,its a shame really because it used to be a great place to go.

Arrived to test the Guinness was not the best thanks to a rude bar man to busy eating while he was serving he looked like he didn’t want to be there slamming glasses on the counter and not timing the Guinness just walking away to be honest for such a well known establishment I suprised at such a bad mannered staff member
We were a party of 20+ for my father's 60th and the service, food and staff were incredible catering for such a large group. A special shout out to Jesús who kept our group in great form while ensuring every attention to detail was made. Highly recommended for large groups, special occasions and birthdays
This a very nice restaurant in a lovely old building. Went on a Saturday night and it was very busy and loud. The food is good, the service excellent and attentive and the atmosphere is great. Worth the visit.
Had an amazing meal here for a special birthday. Food and service was superb, I could not fault. I had the steak and thoroughly enjoyed. Will return and recommend to others.

Authentic surroundings, pleasant staff and that incredible Clam Chowder. Serving 7th Raven cocktails too!
