we booked a table before our visit on Saturday night, but were very disappointed. it was very busy when we arrived, so we expected good things. this was not the case, however. the menu was extremely overpriced for the portions we were given....We were charged 6 euro for a bottle of water. when the food arrived, it was black and pink. we were bought a substitute, but the portion size was even smaller and this time it was boiled (I think the cook tried to prove a point.) the mousakka was cold and obviously had not been properly heated. we complained about our problems and only one of these dishes was removed from the bill. the focus of the service seemed to be on the natives, and because we we...

This place is authentic with plenty of seafood and meat options. I live in Munich-a much larger city-and the Greek food at Yamas put the Greek food in Munich to shame. They had an authentic Saganaki and plenty of Mezes. We loved everything about this...place, the friendly Greek servers, the Ouzo, the white Greek wine, the atmosphere and the food especially. If I ever go to Bochum again, I will visit for sure! It's a great spot for a weekend night with friends, but just beware that it's a little more Greek time than German for service. But a little bit slow just means more time for chatting with friends and family. Opa!

I visited Yamas when on a business trip in Bochum, after having found another preferred restaurant fully occupied. It was a hot evening, and I had a table outside in the street. I took fried squid with a small salad as a starter, and stifado...as main course. The portions were good and the food was authentically Greek, as far as I could tell. Accompanied by some Hefe Weizen, and followed by coffee, this was a grea meal overall. The price (around €30) did not disappoint.

The restaurant was packed with people, I assume as always. The food was delicious, no question. But the service was miserable. The waiter had no time for us. I had one drink the whole evening. Then a wine tasting was going on. The people were...behind our backs, standing and talking, we had no chance to talk to each other on our table, and we were only 8 girls. It was my second time there, and the service is bad again. What a pitty.

I enjoyed my time here! Tasty food in a friendly atmosphere, and good service too. Yamas offers greek tapas, revisited in a modern style. It's absolutely a must when in Bochum. There is also a interesting wine list. Reasonable price. This review has been written...after few visits and it is based on food quality, staff attitude value for money and atmosphere.

Authentic Greek food. Small Tapas portions. Perfekt to Share. Eat like the Greek people do. Service okay. Sometimes Problems, wenn it is fully booked. Be Cool and enjoy.
