Beautiful quirky 15th Century pub, all nooks and crannies and different levels. The service was very good, we had a bit of a wait for the coffee but they were busy. The food was lovely we were a party of four; one had roast beef, one roast pork. The only slight niggle was that the cauliflower was a bit undercooked. One person had the Thai spicy veggie burgers which were very good and I had the rump steak with chips, mushrooms and onions, which was really tasty. Portions were generous but not too much. We couldn't manage desserts but they looked good. Prices were reasonable and the staff very friendly. I look forward to returning soon.
We went here for a lunch while on holidays in the area, the three of us ordered our meals which included a gluten free dish (the reason for this venue was gluten free dishes and dog friendly). I can promise you that the dishes we had were exceptional, well presented and very tasty and all cooked to our individual choices. The service was excellent, we were made to feel comfortable by the friendly staff who even made the dogs welcomed. The prices are reasonable for the area and for me well worth the money.
Arrived for an un-planned lunch and met with friendly faces, and immediately offered a choice of tables. Interior seems very nice and well maintained. Menu very comprehensive and good specials board. We ordered a steak burger and a veggie burger. Both arrived promptly and were nicely presented on wooden boards. Hot and tasty, I 'd definitely order again. The beer (Butty Bach) was very good indeed and I was forcing myself to stick to a limit of 2 pints. Very friendly people and a nice pub. Recommended.
I planned a surprise birthday party/lunch for my wife's 40th birthday at Ye Olde Hobnails. Jack and his team went above and beyond for us. We had about 40 guests for lunch and the service and food quality were outstanding. We appreciated the spacious large back room and would highly recommend this restaurant for any large family gatherings. The children's menu is very reasonably priced. We will definitely return for a quieter meal soon. Thank you so much.

This was a group booking from our retirement flats. Having had to pay up front they seemed to take this as a sign to not bother! Food was slow to arrive, minimal size portions and very bad quality. Pigs in blankets were grey and seemed uncooked, certainly didn't feel safe to eat. Veg was hard to find.. and hard! When we complained there was just a shoulder shrug, no apology or recompense offered. Avoid and don't waste your money!
This lovely old character pub had been recommended by friends but since we were passing today we just called in on the off chance. We were greeted by a friendly young lady , sat by fire and had a mixture of starters . Wow, it was all lovely. Although we very rarely come down this road and live 15 miles away we will definitely be back and with friends. It’s out in the middle of nowhere but make the effort , it’s well worth it !
We have dined at pubs within the Quality Inn chain multiple times in Gloucestershire and Devon, so we had high expectations for the food quality. Our visit to Ye Olde Hobnails Inn did not disappoint. The historic building is charming and tastefully decorated, with multiple cozy dining areas. We were warmly welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our scampi and pie meals.
I went with friends to relax and catch up. The staff was friendly and attentive, taking our order quickly despite it being busy for a Wednesday. The food, including the starters and mains, arrived at the table looking very well presented and hot on hot plates. The staff came to check if everything was okay. We were there from 7pm to 9pm.

Just had a beautiful lunch. My husband and I both had ham, egg and chips. Served with the eggs just as we asked and the chips were outstanding. The staff are welcoming and friendly and go the extra mile to be helpful with my wheelchair, which is greatly appreciated.
The food was excellent. They catered for my families various dietary requirements without any trouble whatsoever. The staff were friendly and helpful and very efficient. We had a very pleasant experience. A very merry Christmas lunch.
