Visited for the first time today at Lunchtime, dining companion had been some time ago. Plenty of available tables on arrival, on entry the background music stood out, it was far too loud, the young waitress showed us to a table. Instantly we realised we had a speaker directly above us couldn 't hear our own voices,so asked if we could move further away. Our conversation still had to compete with the music which was frustrating...I would suspect the majority of diners like to communicate over their meal. A good varied menu choice, though only having mains, it did seem to take some time considering your pub wasn 't busy. The food was hot (plates too and very tasty, my dining companion finish...
The food at the restaurant was excellent and the portion sizes were generous. However, the service was disappointing. Initially, we were greeted by a friendly young woman, but it seemed like she left or went on break soon after and no one took over. We waited a long time with dirty plates on our table and had to repeatedly request basic items. There were significant issues with the baby changing facilities as well, as they were only available in the women's restrooms and were inconveniently located above a toilet in a small cubicle.
While working in Parbold on a rainy day, I stopped by the Windmill Pub for a Mocca. The barmaid, Pauline, was lovely and provided a ray of sunshine on such a dreary day. She was friendly and funny, making my visit enjoyable. I will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you.
No long started visiting this place after starting to date someone in the area. Been twice in a week! Excellent, 5/5 on all fronts. Will be seeing plenty of us.

An awesome country pub with a warm welcome and good food. Would of been 5 stars on food but portion sizes are a little small for a pub!
Wow, Wow, Wow!!! Food was brilliant and the service was amazing. Not been here for a couple of years, not leaving it that long again!!
Absolutely superb. The ox cheek was so tender and fell apart. The mash was light and fluffy. The pizzas were great too. Top banana
Booked in last minute, lovely meal. The pork scratching straws were magic. Love it, be there again soon.

Lovely pub on the side of the Leeds-Liverpool canal in Parbold Did not eat here.
I absolutely adore this pub - the food and service are fantastic.
