Love Z 'Mariks!. I 've been a long time Z 'Mariks customer, going back to my time in college when they first opened in Iowa City. After all this time, I still find myself craving their spicy peanut noodles about once a week. It was the first bowl I ever tried there and remains my favorite. The peanut sauce has just enough heat that slowly builds while you eat. The broccoli soaks up that sauce and is simply amazing. The veggies in all their dishes make me feel good about eating there as often as I do. It 's nice to know I can go out for lunch and not pass out on my desk all afternoon because of the fast food coma. The mac and cheese is also very good. I admit, I was skeptical the first time I tried it but it is definitely worth it. especially since it 's only $4 on Mondays. This is no box stuff or over cooked cafeteria style macaroni. The curly pasta noodles are al dente and hold up well in the creamy sauce. I 've also tried the garlic and the buffalo version of their mac and cheese and would definitely recommend them. Overall, I recommend Z 'Mariks to just about everyone who is asking about a good place to eat. It 's the place my family and friends want to visit when they come to town. My little nieces love the mac and cheese and marinara and my sister loves the fact they are not at McDonald 's. The staff is always friendly and helpful, even when they are extremely busy. We love this place!
