This Interesting restaurant is part of a cloistered Benedictine convent it is part of a working farm as well as commercial wine cellar. It's in a stunning setting in what was once a very rural location. It is totally peaceful even though today it...is barely at the edge of town. The grounds are extensive cattle, sheep pigs are farmed; vegetables are grown vines are cultivated. The food in the restaurant was totally stupendous I don't think I've ever eaten lamb of the quality in Europe before we opted to eat from the special lunch menu which consisted of a delicious pumpkin soup; an intermediate course of fresh salad our main which was rack of lamb. I wound happily go back again to eat more of this delicious fare. We sat outside on what was a stunning very warm autumn day. The staff were friendly very pleasant efficient. Total cost for people Swiss Francs we drank water; no alcohol.

It was supposed to be my birthday celebration dinner. I’d told them this twice at booking my table. Most restaurants make a small gesture in response when there is a special occasion. But not here. After we waited for over an hour for our...mains -and these only arrived after a complaint- it was now so late and we were by now so hungry that we just ate up. We didn’t want to go through the same agony of waiting and so did not order dessert. It was an altogether disappointing evening. We were by now alone in the garden, around us not a single table had been cleared. It was a shambles and even the admittedly nicely cooked fish didn’t make up for it.

The food is very nice. Very traditional hearty Swiss fare and very good local wines. Lots of local and a fair amount from right there on the property of the Kloster. The best part is to walk the grounds and then have a meal. Make...an afternoon of it. min from downtown Zurich but like being in the Swiss countryside.

very pleasant to eat in the garden restaurant on a beautiful summer day. there are shadowing places. You can enjoy the atmosphere of the old monastery. Around the garden restaurant there is a criminal garden and next to it there is a large ruderal area.
