We were staying at a hotel nearby and were recommended this restaurant to try.Not speaking a word of Germany or being able to read German we were a bit apprehensive but decided to give it a try. We are were very pleased that we did as the whole experience was so good we returned again the following evening.We wanted to try a traditional german meal and were recommended a few dishes by the waiter who was very helpful and guided us through the menu as best that he could. The food was excellent as was the wine that he recommended for us and the atmosphere was great although full of local people it felt very welcoming.Would definately go back again if ever we return to that area of German which...
Treat yourself and go local with the delicious German food at Zum Siepenkotter! My husband asked them to "serve him what they wanted him to eat." He loved what the meat dish brought him, but I can't remember what it was. I ordered the house spaetzle and savored it. We also ordered their house draft beer and dessert, both of which were tasty. We don't speak German and the waiter was welcoming and attentive in broken English. We enjoyed their meal and the experience they provided. This is a local neighborhood restaurant worth the trip off the beaten path.I could only check one "sort of visit," but Zum Sipenkotter is also suitable for family, friends, business, and solo.
We had a really good meal here but, unfortunately, it doesn't get an excellent because the service really was a bit slow.My son and I both had the beef stew with dumplings which was very tasty. There was a good atmosphere in the restaurant but we were kept waiting a long time before the food arrived, then after we had finished for the plates to be cleared, and again before the menu arrived for the desserts.The staff were very friendly and as long as you are not in a hurry you will get a good meal.
Anyone who appreciates a grounded German cuisine is right here! Flanked by a very attentive service is served quickly and yet fresh. Convenience Food is not there. Everything is freshly prepared. We ate the saucer and the onion soup and that was really great. The compote was still slightly warm (it would have been even better cold). We ordered a goose to go on the 2nd Christmas day. Both the goose and the supplements were plentiful, hot and very tasty. The price was also very reasonable for four people with 100€. We were very pleased that we also received a Christmas goose here relatively short term during the lockdown and can recommend the restaurant completely.
Went here with a group and the menu and food was great as well as good value. Has "hunters" menu so some good game dishes. Staff very polite and accommodating for us somewhat ignorant people who can't speak German. There is limited English menu at back but overall not as expansive as full menu.
