Want to just kick back and enjoy a great cappucino, or green tea. How about homemade gelato? The handmade chocolates near the cash? OMG! This little gem is chock full of fine groceries like a jar of single malt Scotch whisky jam. I didn't try the pastries but only because I'm diabetic but they looked I could have eaten half a dozen by myself. I recommend going any time although Thursday night to Sunday night they are hopping.
My daughter discovered La Tazza after teaching her Kindermusik class down the street one Saturday. Now it is her regular haunt on Saturday afternoons. When she took me there I understood why... JoAnn, the owner, is wonderfully welcoming, treating her customers like family. She carries an incredible variety of teas, and she also prepares the best espresso drinks in the world! On top of that, she bakes some of the cakes herself, and they are "to die for"!! My daughter always gets the Caramel Apple cake, heaven on a plate! And the spice/pecan/apple cake I had was the perfect accompaniment to my cappuccino. (I started to order something else, but JoAnn convinced me that with cappuccino, I should go for the spice cake - and she was right!!) And the jazz music in the background was perfect!In addition to the food and drinks, you can also find gifts, candies, and spices here. We have many good coffee/tea houses in the SF Bay Area where I live, but this one out-shines them all!
And do not forget the gelatos all homemade. If you are looking to give a gift for someone special this is the place to go you will find a great variety of teas, imported oils, vinegars and so much more.Drop in for a look you will not be disappointed
