I usually avoid buying lunches in this area because there aren’t any halal food options. Previously, I stopped by 101 Deli and ended up getting a ginger ale or something similar. Today, I decided to casually check out what options I could find for lunch. I looked over the menu carefully and considered getting a salad but ultimately opted for a breakfast item instead: a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel with scrambled eggs. The bagel was quite good, and the salad (Veggies in Season) suited my taste perfectly, so I was pleased with that. However, the mixed olives were excessively salty, so I had to pick them out. The broccoli and the seasonal mix of veggies were delicious as well.
The fat woman behind the counter is generally rude. It 's almost laughable. I 've had mostly bad, inedible food from here. The most difficult thing is actually getting what you ordered, how you ordered it. You say one thing, they hear something else. When using cards, check out the tax charge on non-tax items. Generally this place is a dump with a pretty deli case. I wish I could upload my video of the flying bugs under the wrapped pastries up front. Disgusting.
I haven't been here in like 23 years. I was super thrilled to see it still there! Got a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. It was soft and perfect. I used to come here as a kid after church with my step father. Their food is fresh and taste great. I'm so so so so SO happy that it is still here making great sandwiches. Good job Sam at the register. I think that was his name.
This place is terrible, I went for a job there, i trained for like 2 days and then they never got back to me, the food is expensive and it's not even good, I'd give them 0 stars but sadly I can't, eat here if you like eating trash overpriced food, also it's all gossip there, most people who work there take from the register so I'd find a better job personally

I ordered a standard turkey hero, but it was unexpectedly soggy and wet. The bread was practically mushy, and the snack choices were quite limited. Additionally, my friend had a chicken cutlet that was dry and tasted like it had been frozen, lacking freshness as if it had been sitting out all day.
Since I'm originally from Rockaway Beach, NYC (Far Rock), I've been occasionally getting my fix from this landmark eatery for a very long time. If you're ever on the peninsula, I suggest you stop on in to tend to your growling tummy, my unknown friend ???!
Nasty, expensive SLOW! Took 20 mins for a regular turkey hero and paid about $15.. they use the lowest grade of deli meat there is.Local bodega makes the same sandwich with BOARS HEAD TURKEY for 7$ and it’s ready in 5 mins and it’s DELICIOUS.
This is a fantastic beach spot for a variety of sandwiches and snacks. The atmosphere is spacious and well-maintained, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I highly recommend it if you're visiting the Rockaways!

This establishment has been consistently making heros since I was enrolled in high school back in 1985.I no longer live in the city, but whenever I take a trip back to the city, 101 Deli is a must stop.
101 deli is a staple in the Rockaway peninsula. The heros are nice and big and very tasty. The grill cheese is top notch.
