Picture it, Saturday brunch time last week…the restaurant was nearly empty but for 2 tables (4 patrons total). The heat must have been broken because it was freezing and when asked if they would turn the heat on the waitress brought a tiny space heater…the type you may use under a desk in an office. These should have been red flags telling us to leave but the decor was cute so we stayed. The mysteriously stained cloth napkins also would have sealed it if we’d seen them from the beginning. I forgot to review this place from some time ago, but have just stumbled across it again and thought ‘how has this place got above 4 stars on average?!’. The service here was absolutely appalling, it really ruined our evening. The waitresses were all young, inexperienced, and didn’t want to be there. We didn’t receive any service for about 30 minutes upon sitting down in a half empty restaurant, and didn’t have a drinks menu... The waitresses kept their heads down at all times and avoided eye contact, not coming anywhere near our corner of the restaurant. We were there on Mother's Day, came from Basingstoke just for one day with a family of 7 adults and 1 child. We had choices from the Brunch and Lunch menu. Crab Royale was amazing, also Grilled Gambas, Padron Peppers, Pork Skewers, and of course truffle fries. Nice cocktails, Lychee Rose Martini, and Raspberry Fizz. Staff was amazing, we've got a small and cute babyccino for the child as a compliment. Liked this place and we'll come back definitely again.
Delicious roast beef dinner and great ambience. Very relaxing and comfortable plantation style vibe. Will definitely come again.
