First time trying, Ordered take out. Ordered two appetizers and four sushi rolls. For the price of each item I would expect bigger portions. Very disappointed with that. The king crab roll was super small and cost double the price. It was just crab, that 's it. I was told it was very bland also. Also BARELY any Rice on all of the rolls. Like, naked spots where rice should be. I ordered a vegetable roll sweet potato roll for myself since I don 't eat seafood/meat and they put the entire order together. I'm disappointed to say that this restaurant, which used to be my favorite hibachi spot, has gone downhill. I first started coming here three years ago and everything was great, but over the past year, I've noticed that the portion sizes for the meat have decreased while the amount of rice has increased. I no longer enjoy hibachi because I don't like sitting with strangers, but I still occasionally dine in at this restaurant and have had good experiences. My wife and I stopped in as 1st time diners on a date night after having seen a movie at the AMC Voorhees. We chose Akira because of the existing Google reviews. The restaurant did not disappoint! Quality of the food was beyond excellent and the service was superb. The menu is varied, with many options at different price points. If you love sushi, as my wife does, this is definitely the place to stop for lunch or dinner. I opted for an item under kitchen entrees which was a delicious combination of flavors. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll and I'm particular about my food so I requested no avocado and cucumber. I asked for mango instead. They added the mango but also included some green vegetables, lettuce, and carrots, which I've never seen on this dish before and I was disappointed by this addition. Additionally, there was no eel sauce on the roll, which I usually expect, so it ended up being bland and disappointing without any sauce. Akira is always great. The sushi is on point, sashimi is delicately prepared and presented beautifully, rolls are good. Kitchen entrees I think I've almost had everything at this point. Some are better than others of course (ginger and scallion with protein of your choice is always a winner), but I've never walked away unsatisfied. The only part I can't speak to is the hibachi but the folks back there sure sound like they're having fun. Staff is attentive and the premise is clean.

Had dinner here a couple of nights ago! I liked the fact that we were able to get seated pretty quickly. We had the hibachi dinner for 2 the one with chicken, steak and lobster. It was good but I definitely had better hibachi before. The pink lady roll was good as well. I'd come back here again.

Probably, one of the best sushi places I've had in a while. Ambiance is nothing special but service was quick and friendly. Make sure to try the sushi pizza appetizer. Best dish I've had there! The waiter recommended the toro special and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to coming back

Best sushi I have ever had. The Smoky Roll is to die for. However the prices are very high. Up to $22 for these special/signature rolls (8 pieces)! Fried calamari appetizer was awesome too. Server was so nice and friendly too. Can’t wait to come back Reserva una mesa ahora

The staff at the register was more focused on their phones than on helping customers, appearing ignorant and lacking attention to customer service.
