My recent experience at Alma Cocina left much to be desired, especially the burrito, which was quite disappointing. It wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't enjoyable. The rice lacked flavor, was under-seasoned, and had an overwhelming lime taste. The overall atmosphere felt equally uninspired. Service was decent, but the food and vibe didn't make up for it. I’m having trouble seeing why this place has so many positive reviews. Perhaps we visited on an off day (it was a Saturday afternoon, and the restaurant was mostly empty), but our experience was far from good. The food wasn't fresh, hot, flavorful, or made with quality ingredients. We ordered the carne asada plate and chilaquiles and found them disappointing. I’m giving it two stars for the friendly staff and reasonable prices, but I wouldn’t come back.
