What an awesome hidden gem. My wife and I went on a lunch date st noon on a Friday and had the place to ourselves. A small quaint place that only seats 22 plus around 10 at the bar. At first we wondered if they served chips salsa and what was taking do long. What a pleasant surprise when the waitress arrived not only with Chips salsa but freshly made mint, orange and line water, so refreshing. My wife finally tried lingua tacos and liked then but still can't get past what they are. That said they were made perfectly, so tender. Beef soup It’s an ok place. DO NOT order Soup, if you do, ask when it was made. The place was empty for lunch and the food still took longer then it should have. Some of the food was decent, but like I mentioned the soup was disgusting. It looked likeit was old and they just added water to it. Looked like dirty toilet water, not appealing at all. And did not taste any better.Wish I took a picture.
Almitas is an average spot. If you decide to order soup, be sure to ask when it was prepared. The restaurant was nearly empty during lunch, yet the food took longer to arrive than expected. Some dishes were okay, but the soup was terrible. It appeared old and watery, resembling dirty toilet water—definitely unappetizing and the taste matched. I even considered taking a photo of it.
I visited this restaurant on a Wednesday night and was impressed by its beauty and relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It was a shame that we were the only customers there, as this place truly feels like a hidden gem. I think they could benefit from doing more advertising and adding entertainment options, such as live music or themed nights.

If you're a foodie seeking authentic Mexican cuisine, Almitas is the perfect spot for you. Set in a charming house with private rooms and a cozy bar, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The menu offers genuine flavors, and the friendly service makes the experience even better. We will definitely be coming back to Almitas.
What a sweet treat!!!! Food was fantastic. Presentation was pretty goob too. It's a very clean restaurant. But top of everything, friendly, helpful, sweet stuff. Can't thank them enough for making our Mother's Day fabulous. Almy was serving us ina way, really feel special!!!! Will be back very soon.
Almitas is a hidden gem just across the bridge in Fairfax County. The food was excellent, the Sangria was fantastic, the ambiance was vibrant, and the staff were both friendly and prompt. The only downside was a minor problem with the bill.

The food was satisfactory, though the roasted Tilapia portion was somewhat small. The service was good, but a little slow despite the restaurant being only lightly occupied.
