Today was an overcast and windy winters day on the Sankt Johann ski fields, a perfect day for a warm and cosy lunch break in this traditional and well recommended mountain restaurant. Ski to the door and ski when you leave, what could go wrong? We have been here several times over the years and always the food is good, excellent even, noted for the wine cellar, that’s a big plus, the service is quick and efficient......but, you’ll be hard pushed to get a hello or goodbye from the staff, and definitely no table side banter, strictly business here thanks. This is a shame as everything else stacks up, but the whole dining experience is left cold, in a vacuum.

Do not go here unless you have time to waste. We had 7 for lunch and first were told not to sit in one area because that was being closed which is fine. So I thought we would be ok as every other mountain hut we had been to were very attentive.We arrived at 1:50 and after asking twice to order we eventually decided to leave after not getting any service for 20 mins. It was not overly busy but we saw many tables with people but no food or drinks on them. Several had been waiting some time just to order and even pay!Appalling and thankfully not typical of all the other places we visited in St. Johann. Reserva una mesa ahora

We stopped for a drink In the middle of our walk from the top to the bottom of the mountain. The tables on the terrace were set for a big lunch party, glasses sparkling in the sun. We were directed to a line of leisure chairs overlooking the lower slopes of the mountain, across the valley to the hills beyond. It was all very beautiful.Angerer Arm is very charismatic and looked stunning - a picture book experience. The waiter was friendly and helpful and looked good in full Austrian dress. It was a great stopping off place for a beer and I imagine it would be a great place in which to holiday.

you really have to stay over night to appreciate this gem. during regular skiing hours you might just notice a beautiful, cozy lodge in the middle of the slopes, the food is always great, but at night you can book a 3 or 5 course gourmet menue (3 course is included for over night guests) and (if you are lucky) the charming host, annemarie, will take you to the 'sacred' wine cellar with a stunning selection of austrian and international wines. in any case you should trust her advice for the best corresponding wine. last but not least - the snow was fantastic and we had an amzing time!!!!

Wir sind extra wegen des Schnitzels angereist und mussten leider feststellen, dass das Schnitzel unseren Ansprüchen und Tim Mälzers Kriterien überhaupt nicht entsprach. Aussicht und Bedienung sehr gut!

Superb mountain lodge with a huge wine cellar. Literally a lifetime of choice from all the main areas.Our five course meal was excellent.
