Al's Gourmet Falafel and Fries

Having spent many years in the ME we thought we would try a small lunch after a hike. Had to try the falafel, which is his specialty, to see how it compares. Rather smaller portions but good to have a taste. The falafel was somewhat overdone, crispy, compared to what we were used to. However, the food was good and was more or less as advertised. Keep in mind this is Salt Spring Island so nothing is cheap.

To.die.for Yup. I said it. And I gave it 5 stars. The wait and lineup was well worth it. We had the middle eastern chicken Kebob pita with marinated eggplant and hot sauce. I ordered mine without onions. I was full after eating mine but wanted another one just because it was yummy goodness! I would totally eat here again if I come back to Saltspring. It will be my first stop!

So much love goes into the incredible dishes at Al's. The poutine really is something special and shouldn't be missed! Falafel is so yummy and made with a fresh mix of herbs and beans. I doubt most restaurants are making food from scratch like this, and you can really tell all the extra effort that goes into making your experience amazing. Well worth the price and the wait.

Whether it is a falafel pita, salad or poutine - this cart does not disappoint! The fries are fresh (you can see them using an old fashion fry cutter,) the tahini sauce is bomb, well everything is - trust me. This place always has a freaking line whether at his regular spot or Saturday market. Don't miss this truck! Reserva una mesa ahora

A food van that has a range of simple tasty snacks, nothing too fancy, but all made with care and tasty. Stop in and see what is on offer. There are some spots to sit and friendly staff or other customers to chat to. A great Saltspring experience.

I have never met a kinder serving team then the two lovely girls working at Al's. The food was nice but it really is the staff that made this 5 star for me and my family. I would recommend this place to everyone visiting Salt Spring. Xx

Genuine cheese curds from Quebec, beef gravy made from scratch plus organic hand cut potatoes make for truly substantial poutine. The Falafels are also a great hit and hefty meal. Pricey but worth it.

Poor service from the two girls at the market and the falafels were the size of toonies - 3 for $7! Waited about 25 mins for that. Would not recommend . Reserva una mesa ahora

For $10, it was quick, fresh and very tasty. Lots of roasted chicken and veggies. We had it during the outdoor market in Ganges.

Al was awesome answering all my questions. His fries are delicious, and the food is yummy! Wonderful for a quick lunch!
