Golden Island Restaurant

The Golden Island Chinese Restaurant has been operating on Salt Spring Island for over 35 years. On any given day you will find Sam, Ted, Winnie and Norman hard at work in the Restaurant. The food is excellent and we have been going there to eat, or getting take out, probably once a week for the entire time they have been in business. Our favourite dishes are the Beef Chow Fun, BBQ Pork Chow Mein, Chicken Chop Suey and the Honey Garlic Lean Pork. We think the prices are reasonable and find the establishment very clean. We would highly recommend giving it a try. One complaint .... they are closed on Mondays!

The owner, Sam and his crew provide friendly, efficient service and enjoy bantering with their customers, mostly locals. A Chinese restaurant with the typical variety of entrees - noodle dishes, seafood, pork, beef, chicken and vegetables. The vegetables are always fresh, crunchy, cooked just right and sauced to perfection but the meat dishes are a little sparse on protein and usually contain more vegetables and noodles than they do meat.

Never knew how good I had it with Golden Islands till I moved off SSI and tried to find good chinese food elsewhere. Always get some when I'm visiting...

This was the place to go for lunch when we were in high school. Where they knew your order and had good laughs. Miss this place so much.
