Three of us had a reservation for 7pm. We were promptly greeted, seated, and ordered a beer for one person and a bottle of wine for the two girls. The wine was poured quickly and we selected our dishes. Our starters arrived in a timely manner. My chicken pate was delicious, but the bruschetta was too crunchy. The waitstaff continuously topped up our glasses of wine, which felt a bit excessive. My main dish was lamb rump with vegetables for £24. The first two slices were lovely, but then I encountered gristle and sinew that made it difficult to eat. The vegetables were bland, but the sauce was delicious. I went to The Florence last night with my family, as my daughter, who is a student in Jesmond, recommended it. We had a wonderful evening and the meal was fantastic. This was my second time visiting The Florence, and just like the first time, it was amazing. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The waiters were very friendly and likeable. I started with the carpaccio, which was delicious, and then had the tagliatelle with chorizo and prawns for my main course, which was also excellent. They have a great selection of wines at reasonable prices. Overall, we will definitely be returning to The Florence again and again.
Great menu. Easy to locate on Osborne road. Food is delicious and the place has a very cosy atmosphere. Staff are very friendly. The calamari antipasti, lamb pasta and caramel cheesecake desert were all fresh and homemade. Would highly recommend it for a couple or family night out.
We'd never been to Jesmond or even Newcastle before. By going to Antico we made an excellent choice at good value. The staff were great and excellently trained making us feel valued customers whilst explaining their menu offer. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere often...

Every town needs a restaurant like Antico. Pleasant, cheerful and helpful staff are in abundance, management always on hand and exceptional food. Never, ever had a bad meal here. Great selection of daily specials and one of the best filet steaks in the city. Superb.

Great restaurant setting, lovely food. Could hit 5 stars easily, just left feeling the staff were pleasant but maybe still finding a formula team, so definitely not a criticism just how it felt. I’ll definitely be back very soon as it’s 4.8 for me Yum Yum
