Au Roi du Potje Vleesch

We have now visited this fabulous little French estaminet/shop. The make their own pate, potsvleesch carbonara which are for sale in the shop along with very good French local Belgium beers. Just below the Mont Des Cat (Catberg) they also sell the Abbey cheese beer. The restaurant is an old abattoir and has a lovely old feel to it with books, brochures phone books from a bygone era. Food is basic French but excellent quality. Local beers plenty of wine available. Well worth hunting out. French only spoken but they now have an English translation of the menu.

We came for the “Titel” King of Potje Vleesch, and we were super happy to try everything this Estaminet offered, is cozy and beautiful, vintage somehow and the service and food is great! We really recommend we tried from the Welsh and the Potje Vleesh and we were really satisfied, the amount and taste exactly right! Do not hesitate to try a really good and great CUISINE FLAMANDE! In any case, we'll be back! the waffle with ice is really homemade... so good!

I just sunk for a glass of beer (Ploegsteert/Queue de Charrue/Plugstreet) they had in exhaustion (the blonde type). While I came out of my beer, I enjoyed the friendly service and the wide range of local bottles of beers (from Flemish-speaking northern France) they had for sale. And the Potjevlesch (a heavy meal) is a story in itself. I'll taste it again!

Very friendly eager to please staff. Beverages were good, but food disappointing, meat very fat and high smell. The meat cuprole was very disappointing!! They expect a traditional house cooked food, but not where close!! We definitely don't go back.

I had the beef casrole and my husband had both excellent fish. Best meal in this holiday in France. Our host was very friendly and helpful. I wish we could go more often, but we live in Britain. Thank you.
