We came for dinner one evening and chose to sit outside on a warm summers night. Blankets were available for anyone finding the air to cool. This is a lovely old restaurants with an open fire/grill outside and featuring traditional furniture and decoration. We ordered...the traditional raclette and a couple of other local dishes and were served promptly and efficiently. Subsequent servings took a little bit of time. We were expecting a few more trimmings with the raclette, but the cheese was outstanding. The polenta with rabbit was very tasty and a huge portion of meat very yummy. I stopped here with a group of hikers for lunch- and was lucky enough to be seated on the sunny terrace with a magnificent view of the mountains and ancient tile roofs. Prominently located at the entry to the restaurant is a hearth with raclette...melting by the fire, so I was tempted and ordered the raclette. I got a nice basket with potatoes and a plate with some onions and cornichons. The shocking part was that I was served three very small scrapings of raclette and the cost of the dish was 24 SF. One of the highlights of Evolène, we are welcomed there by Raymonde who always wears traditional Valais costume. All you can eat raclette, pierrades, everything you need to have a great evening after a day in the mountains!!

Lovely woodfire smell when you walk in busy staff so slightly dismissive the shocker was the 11. CHF bottle of water. expensive than Verbier.
