Forty years ago, when we lived in Germany,we often traveled to the charming city of Ammerschwir, France, on the East side, Alsace Region in order to dine at the fabulous Aus Armes de France! The restaurant was a four star, with exquisite food! We again visited this restaurant, with expectations of grandeur. This was in 2015, when we spent 5 weeks traveling throughout France and Germany. What disappointment after having experienced the glorious years of this establishment! Sunday noon 16 July: practically the only ones in a large room, partially illuminated around the tomato: 3 green/red/yellow tomatoes (with the skin) bathing with any sauce ("balsamic vinegar decoration on the edge of the plate"), lobster salad and foie gras = a small fatty liver coarsely cut with lobster pieces portions for piano movers or truckers. However, we asked the housekeeper to give us small portions (at the same price), the answer was clear, “we predict the quantity to the quality, it is the style of the house! ... to come back. For the 7th year in a row I'm coming with the family to stay a couple of nights in the Aux Armes enjoying the great hospitality and food. As always Dinner was exceptional tasty and service was great. Highly recommend the Foie Gras with a local gewurztraminer and the Filet de boeuf with a nice Pinot Noir from the neighboring winemakers. Looking forward to be back next year.

We had a fabulous lunch. We had six different dishes with my wife. The presentation of the dishes, the tastes and the service were just perfect. My only objeciton is that the wine list could be more strong on Alsatian wines. I could not find a dry Pinot Gris in the center of Alsace. But, I' ll be back to taste the rest of the menu. 2 very good evenings in this restaurant, whether with friends or with a couple we have no regrets about our choice, it was perfect at all levels, a very high quality meal with attentive and dedicated service, bravo to all of you.

disappointment and service are not at the level of the proposed prices. the menu was very good but there are so many very good more affordable tables in the surroundings. Too bad the restaurant seems outdated.
